Memories of Mum-Mums

I wanted to share this blog post. It is very sweet! I am a very optimistic person and I hope I can feel this way when I have my kids stuff all over the place and my house is a mess. Thanks for sharing this blog Jaimie!

I was thinking about this memory today and I wanted to write/type it out. It is something I don't want to forget. I was reminded of this memory today when I was babysitting sweet little Lilly (her mommy Dorothy had something come up this week and needed someone to watch her for 3 day). I gave her her first Mum-Mum and it made me think of the first time Deegan had his first Mum-Mum.

About 6 months ago I gave Deegan his first Mum-Mum. I was sitting in the back of the truck with him, as we were driving home from running errands. It was kind of a long drive home and I knew he was hungry, so I sat in the back with him and opened up the box of Mum-Mums that we just bought (Mum-Mums are soft large crackers that just dissolve in the babies mouth. They are the shape of a surf board, so they are easy for them to hold). I put the Mum-Mum cracker in front of him and his little hand reached out and grabbed it. After a few tries he finally got it in his mouth and started chomping on it. As soon as I saw him do this, I started crying! I was crying because my big boy was growing up. He was feeding himself! He was about 7 months old and for the past 7 months I was feeding him whenever he was hungry. But now at the age of 7 months old, he didn't need me anymore! My baby boy was growing up :-(

I <3 sweet memories! That is what life is all about!
