Bountiful Baskets

Today we got our Bountiful Baskets and it was one of the best ones in a long time! I think it is my favorite because it had sweet potatoes! For $15 we got spinach, 3 mangos, asparagus, cantaloupe, 5 bananas, 2 zucchinis, 6 apples, lettuce (I think it is romaine), carrots, 5 sweet potatoes, 3 tomatoes and 2 grapefruits (not pictures). We save so much money by getting our produce from Bountiful Baskets. They also have different extras every week. This week they had a 10 pound box of organic heirloom tomatoes. It cost $14 for the box of tomatoes. I was planning on making spaghetti sauce with them and freezing but now I'm not sure if heirloom tomatoes would be good for sauce. I also got the five loaves of 9 grain bread. It is the best bread I have ever had! I don't buy bread from the grocery store anymore! The bread cost $10 for 5 loaves, so $2 a loaf! That is cheap! Good bread at the store cost anywhere from $3.00-4.50 a loaf. I just put the extra bread in the freezer.

Kevin was gone all day today, so Deegan and I got up this morning and went to breakfast. We never go out to eat for breakfast. That is just one of the meals that we always eat at home. We went to our favorite little restaurant, Village Pub. We shared pancakes and eggs!

He is a blueberry eating machine!

  1. Your Bountiful Basket of heirloom tomatoes got me salivating! I hope your sauce turned out okay, but I would recommend eating the green kind fresh with a drizzle of spicy olive oil - Delicious! Deegan is too precious for words!

  2. Greetings from Arizona ... where Bountiful Baskets originated.

Do you have anyone in your area buying the Organic Bountiful Baskets, on a regular basis? We find that Organic has become a less valuable investment over time.

It would be nice for both Organic & Conventional Bountiful Baskets were a great deal as we hope is the intent. However, Organic (boxed) seems to have become less quantity and marginal quality for more money.
Maybe a coordinated effort from various areas would help everyone get the best value for their produce dollars. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Do enjoy and eat fresh!
